10 days of fun...and lots of sugar!

I can't believe it has been 10 days since I posted. We have been so busy with Spring Break and Easter, that I have not had a chance to get my pictures downloaded and to post. So I will try and not leave anything out.
Starting last Wednesday, we were on a whirlwind trip covering lots of mile and days. First we went to see Maw-Maw. We had a nice visit and Lucy and Grace got to play with their cousins. They are actually my first cousins and their second cousins. My aunt Michelle and I are close in age, so our kids play like we did growing up! Lucy really likes her cousins. In fact, she told me while we were there that Jeffery was her boyfriend. I tried to explain how that was not really a good idea, but she said... "but I just like his so much!" You can't argue with that. I guess I will wait until she is 10 to explain the reasons for not marrying your cousins.

After leaving Shelley's house, we went on to Granny and Poppy's. Poppy found our old tire swing in the attic and hung it up for the girls. Lucy had so much fun. She was a little nervous at first, but by the end of our visit, she was a pro. Granny tried so hard to get Gracie to walk all weekend, but instead they just practiced alot.

On Thursday, Shelley and the kids came to visit us again at Granny and Poppy's. We dyed Easter Eggs, made Easter bunnies out of eggs and had a slumber party. Then on Friday, we went to the movies to see Horton Hears a Who. It was really cute!

Saturday, Lucy helped Sassy and Poppy plant the garden. They planted tomatoes, green peppers, and green beans. Every year, I look forward to my dad's garden. He has the awesomest (is that a word?) green thumb around.

We also had to build a nest for the Easter Bunny. That is one of my funniest memories of childhood. We always filled it with carrots and leaves. Lucy had a great time and wanted to leave the whole bag of carrots.

Easter morning we hunted eggs (in our jammies) which Lucy thought was so cool. She (and Sassy) hunted and hunted until they found them all. Then we had to make a huge pile of all the candy.

After our sugar high was complete, we started in on preparing a huge feast. Chris's parents joined us and it was really great. We all ate enough to make ourselves sick and watched the Spurs beat the Mavericks (GO ROCKETS!).

So, I think I am all caught up. I am sure I left out tons of funny moments, but these are the highlights. We had an incredible holiday and continue to thank God for his many blessings!

It looks like you had a great Easter. I love the pics of all the kiddos on the stairs--and the tire swing looked like so much fun--good luck with the garden--keep us posted on how it grows.
PS how is the house selling process going?
