Where, oh where, did my little baby go!

Well, Lucy is officially five. If you know her, you know that she has been counting down the days for months, because so many cool things happen when you turn 5 in our house. She had her first piece of gum and got to have her first coke (soda). It was very exciting.

She had the gum at exactly 8:24am, as soon as she swallowed the last bite of pancake. She chewed it for about 2 minutes and spit it out and went to get another... Unfortunately, she had forgotten the one piece a day rule. So far, she has had a piece every day, but usually only chews it for a few minutes.

She was much more patient with her first coke. She waited all day. We went to supper at Chick-fil-a. She went up to the counter and ordered her drink. She was so proud of herself. You would have thought she was bellying up to the bar at the Chicken, ordering her first beer. I am sure the lady at Chick-fil-a, thought we were crazy. She savored that coke for about 2 hours. She kept telling everyone she saw, "I am drinking coke!" I wish I had saved the cup. It was such a major milestone :)!

Saturday we had a party at the house. She was so excited she couldn't sit still all day. She had her swim suit on by 9 am and wore it until the party started. It was lots of fun with friends and family! We had pools, a sprinkler, a slip and slide, a pinata, and lots of cake and ice cream. She is a lucky little girl!

I am really trying not to be too melancholy about my oldest turing five, but it is really hard. I can't believe how fast time has flown. Plus I am entirely TOO young to have a little one that old and this much responsibility!

Flyin' High

Chris spent about an hour throwing the girls up in the pool. They had so much fun and giggled the whole time. I was excited to get some really great shots of all the action!

Girls Gone Wild...

My girlfriends and I got together a few weeks ago for a great "kid-free" weekend. We had a amazing time catching up, shopping, lazying around the pool and laughing alot.

We have been friends forever (some since elementary school) and have an awesome ability to just pick up where we left off, no matter how long since our last visit. I know these girls so well and love them all.

We may only all get together once a year, but we make the most of that time and have a ball! I can hardly wait for our next adventure!

Poppy and Granny's New House

Poppy and Granny's new house is moving along so fast! The girls and I got to go up and get a sneak peek last week. The girls have already picked out the room they want for themselves...

The house is going to be perfect and I am really happy to see my parent's dreams coming true!

July Fourth Family Fun

These are a little late, but you know me... We had a blast in Rockport with both sides of the family. The kids were on overload with two sets of cousins, grandparents, and an aunt and uncle. They couldn't get enough attention.

We attempted to go to the Art Fest in Rockport, but the heat was horrible. The kids (and me) were crying after about an hour, so we went back to the pool. We stayed most of the day there, so it was great!

We watched a few fireworks at the condos, but Grace announced she was "DONE" after about 3 minutes. She wasn't too fond of the noise.

Party Girls

The girls and I ventured back to our old stomping grounds for a great friend's birthday party. The girls looked so cute dressed up in their new shirts from Poppy and Granny, that I had to get in a mini photo shoot.

I can't believe how big they look. I am getting more and more sentimental the closer the start of kindergarten gets. Lucy is so excited, but I am scared. When did I get old enough to have a almost kindergartener?

I have tons of pictures from the 4th too, but I haven't had a chance to sort through them all... Stay tuned... they should be up later today!
