I heart Faces - Week 11

Here is my natural light entry for this week's I heart Faces contest... I chose my fave pic of little Haley. She is such a cutie! This was my first attempt at newborn photos. We set up in my sister's living room and opened up the windows... Luckily, Haley is a natural!

This site is so addicting. There are so many amazing photographers and awesome pictures. What an inspiration! Go check them out...

Rodeo Days

Sorry, I have been pretty blog lazy lately... We have just been really busy.

It is (was) rodeo time in Houston for the last three weeks. The girls and I went last Wednesday with my friend Barbara and her two little boys. We had a great time. We saw all the animals, worked in the farm, watched the funny animal races, and had hot dogs.... Not a bad day! If you are ever in Houston during March, you should really check out the Rodeo... It is pretty spectacular.
Anyways, here are a few of the moments I caught on film!

Yee Haw, Cowgirls

These pictures are really bad, but they were too funny to pass up. Lucy had Rodeo day today and Gracie just couldn't miss out on the fun! Just a few more weeks until rodeo is over. We are hoping to make it next week sometime. Lucy has been asking constantly... I haven't been in several years, so we hopefully we can make it this year!

Sugar Cookie Dream Come True

Hello... My name is Erin and I am addicted to sugar cookies or maybe just making the perfect sugar cookie. Cute, soft, sweet sugar cookies, with yummy icing.

I have been on the hunt for the perfect recipe for many years. I have a great family recipe for drop sugar cookies. They are oh-so yummy. We make them every year for Christmas. They are perfect with red and green sugar sprinkles.

But I have been searching for the best cut-out cookie recipe for as long as I have had kiddos to entertain. I have tried many different recipes with none of them coming close. Most are too crispy. Or too tough. Or they just don't have that perfect not too sweet taste. Or they are too hard to roll out and they don't keep their cute little shapes. The list goes on and on...

But, I think I might have found the answer to my sugar cookie prayers today. I found this great recipe on The Pioneer Woman Cooks! Imagine that... She is an amazing cook and all the recipes I have tried have been fabulous. Anyways, she made hers for Christmas. Cute little trees and Santas dancing across the screen.

Lucy needed cookies for Rodeo day at school tomorrow, so....

we made a whole herd of little horsies. They are so cute and taste so yummy! Even Chris, had an extra one after supper! I can't believe how great they are. They rank about a 8.5 out of 10... Pretty good in my book.

UH-OH! Looks like one of the little horses might have to be put down. His little leg is looking a little broken!

I am a little sad that my quest may be over. I guess I will have to move on to some other mission... maybe trying to find a cure for laundry!

I am a very proud Auntie...

My sister had her sweet baby girl about two weeks ago. I can hardly wait to spoil her rotten. I finally got to practice taking some newborn photos... Haley was such a natural in front of the camera. Here is my favorite.
Head on over to Sara's blog and see the rest! She is such a cutie.
