Good Ole Oil Ranch Fun!

Lucy's school had a field trip to the Oil Ranch today (http://www.oilranch.com/). It was so much fun. They have so many things to do to. First we went to try and milk a cow. Which Lucy absolutely refused to do. Then it was off to the hayride. During the hayride, they let you feed the cows. Lucy was finally convinced to try and give the cows some hay. She wasn't too sure and the cows were awfully pushy. Grace was in awe of the cows. They were huge!

Next, we were off to the pony rides. Lucy did so good. She was quite proud of her horse. After the pony rides, we went into the petting/hay barn. They had baby chickens and goats. They also had one end of the barn full of hay and a hay loft the kids could climb around on. It was great! After the hay, we had our picnic lunch with our friends. I have never seen Lucy eat her food so fast. She was ready to go, go, go!

Finally, it was time for the train ride. The train took us around the lake. We saw lots of ducks, turtles, and a swan.

The kids then played on the swing set, slide, and the monkey bars. Grace had had enough, so she decided it was time for a nap!

By the end, all the kids were tired and ready for a great, cool treat...snow cones! Even I had one.

It was a really fun day. I wish I would have taken Lucy's picture when we got home. She was filthy! You can always tell it has been a good day, by how dirty the bathwater is at night :).

If anyone is interested in making a trip our direction, we can plan a visit! I highly recommend it for anyone with little kids! We didn't even do the maze, putt-putt golf, or the second petting zoo! Just let me know!

And she's off...

Gracie took her first step about 3 weeks ago, but today she has finally learned to string about 5-6 together. It is only a matter of time until I am officially crazy! She is already into everything, so walking will just add another level to her messiness! Please pray for my furniture, dishes, and her bones... She is going to break something!!!!

P.S. Sorry this video is so bad. I still haven't learned to take video off my camera, so I have resorted to videoing with my cell phone. I am so cool!

10 days of fun...and lots of sugar!

I can't believe it has been 10 days since I posted. We have been so busy with Spring Break and Easter, that I have not had a chance to get my pictures downloaded and to post. So I will try and not leave anything out.
Starting last Wednesday, we were on a whirlwind trip covering lots of mile and days. First we went to see Maw-Maw. We had a nice visit and Lucy and Grace got to play with their cousins. They are actually my first cousins and their second cousins. My aunt Michelle and I are close in age, so our kids play like we did growing up! Lucy really likes her cousins. In fact, she told me while we were there that Jeffery was her boyfriend. I tried to explain how that was not really a good idea, but she said... "but I just like his so much!" You can't argue with that. I guess I will wait until she is 10 to explain the reasons for not marrying your cousins.

After leaving Shelley's house, we went on to Granny and Poppy's. Poppy found our old tire swing in the attic and hung it up for the girls. Lucy had so much fun. She was a little nervous at first, but by the end of our visit, she was a pro. Granny tried so hard to get Gracie to walk all weekend, but instead they just practiced alot.

On Thursday, Shelley and the kids came to visit us again at Granny and Poppy's. We dyed Easter Eggs, made Easter bunnies out of eggs and had a slumber party. Then on Friday, we went to the movies to see Horton Hears a Who. It was really cute!

Saturday, Lucy helped Sassy and Poppy plant the garden. They planted tomatoes, green peppers, and green beans. Every year, I look forward to my dad's garden. He has the awesomest (is that a word?) green thumb around.

We also had to build a nest for the Easter Bunny. That is one of my funniest memories of childhood. We always filled it with carrots and leaves. Lucy had a great time and wanted to leave the whole bag of carrots.

Easter morning we hunted eggs (in our jammies) which Lucy thought was so cool. She (and Sassy) hunted and hunted until they found them all. Then we had to make a huge pile of all the candy.

After our sugar high was complete, we started in on preparing a huge feast. Chris's parents joined us and it was really great. We all ate enough to make ourselves sick and watched the Spurs beat the Mavericks (GO ROCKETS!).

So, I think I am all caught up. I am sure I left out tons of funny moments, but these are the highlights. We had an incredible holiday and continue to thank God for his many blessings!

Open House

Don't you want to live here....
We are having an open house on Sunday. It is so nerve racking to think that I will have (hopefully, many) strangers walking through and critiquing my house. I have been scrubbing, polishing and rearranging all week. It is amazing how well I clean under pressure, as well as, how helpful Chris can be! We do make a good team!
We have become addicted to Designed to Sell on HGTV, so at least I got some new throw pillows for the couches out of the deal... That is always the reason a house sells, or at least that is what I convinced Chris of. Wish us luck and maybe all my hard work will convince someone that they just have to live in my house!
I had to share, cause my house may never be this clean again!!!

This Little Fairie must be a Sucker...

HAHAHAHA... Today I won! Two whole hours of blissful peace and quiet, while both the girls napped simultaneously! Yeah me!!!
