Splashing over to the Pad

I took the girls to the splash pad today for a little wet adventure with our friends! Lucy was so excited. She has been asking to go since last November and today was finally the day. She wore her swimsuit all day and even stayed in her room for the whole 1 1/2 hours for rest. She was really trying hard. Grace was much more into the slide, so I spent all my timing trying to keep her from experiencing any major injuries. She is such a daredevil... She would climb all the way up the stairs, then climb in the tube, and scoot her way in until she would slide down! She would belly laugh the whole way! We are going to miss the splash pad and our friends all summer!

So Long...

Our awesome neighbors had a farewell cookout for us on Saturday. We have been so blessed. Our neighbors are like family. We have all lived here since the houses were built and have watched each other grow and change. I don't even have words to express how much I am going to miss each and every one of them. I love the kids like they are my own and am going to miss the friendships that I have with the adults. They have always been there for hugs, encouragement, advice, or a cup of sugar (or tequila). I am sure that I will cry many tears when we say our final goodbyes, but luckily our relationships are strong enough that a few miles won't get in the way! Even though we are leaving, the Loop (and it's residents) will always be in our hearts!

Our Crazy Life

So, the last few weeks have been a bit of a blur. We accepted a contract on our house on the 14th and put in an offer on a new house on the 15th. We are scheduled to close on the 12th and 13th respectively and then move on the 17th... Whew! Are you tired yet, I know we are. We have been packing and planning night and day. Our new house needs some TLC, but we are looking forward to making it our own.

I am really excited, but so sad to leave our first home. This is the house where both our kids were born, and where they learned to talk and walk. Where we all made lots of friends and memories! Where we left our twenties behind and welcomed our thirties. Where we have spent so many days laughing and loving. I am just a big jumble of emotions. I get teary eyed one minute and so excited I can hardly sit still the next.

I will probably be a little MIA for awhile, but don't worry! I will be back! Until then, here is a little sprinkling of Gracie love....

Spring Sing

Lucy's school had their spring program on Thursday. It was just as cute as the Holiday program. Lucy really got into the hand motions and sung so loud.

My camera batteries were too low to work, so Daddy was the photographer for the night. I actually got to be in a picture.... Yikes!

Party Time

Again, I am slipping... Grace's party was over a week ago and I am just now getting around to uploading some pictures. The day was absolutely gorgeous so we planned an outdoor party... lots of bubbles, ride on toys, and balls. We had a great turnout and lots of fun. As with every birthday so far, I went a little overboard on the cakes. I included a few pics of the multitude. It was a very random theme of pigs and giraffes. The kids played and the adults hung out. It was really nice and surprisingly relaxed. The highlight was pin the tail on the pig. Grace was a little overwhelmed, but managed to charm everyone there. She is such a sweetie.

What would a first birthday be without naked cake eating pictures???

These are a few of Poppy's pics from the party...

I can clap my hands.
I can stand up by myself.

I can make people laugh.
I can make a huge mess.
I can walk across the room.
I love my sister's toys best! I love to play outside!
I will eat almost anything.
I love my monkey.
I love to swing.

I have crazy hair!

I can play paddy cake.
I can say momma and dada.
I love my big sister.
I need my paci.
I can sit in my chair.
I love my books.
I hate to have my diaper changed.
I take really good naps.

I can hold my own. You should see the other guy!
I can light up a room with my smile. I don't like to sit still... Too much to see and do.I got my first kiss.I love bathtime! I have lots of friends. (This is just a few!)
