Earth Day 2009

We celebrated a beautiful Earth Day by spending as much time outside as we could. It was wonderful. We started with a picnic at the park with Lucy's friends from school. Then after naptime, we got out the sprinkler and swimsuits and cooled off in style!

It was a gorgeous day and full of lots of fun. I am really looking forward to summer and all the lazy outdoor days it brings.

Strawberry Pickin' Time

The girls and I went strawberry picking last week with Sara and Haley. It was a gorgeous day and we had such a great time. The fields were full of big, juicy, red strawberries and Gracie couldn't wait!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Little Gracie

Today is Gracie's second birthday... She is such a little charmer! We had a big party for her this weekend and she loved every minute of it... If you asked her whose party it was, she would scream, "MINE"!!!

It is amazing how much we love this little girl. She is the ruler of our house (even her big sis lets her get away with almost everything!). It is so perfect how she completes our little family. She is impossibly sweet and unbelievably stubborn. She loves Dora, shoes, purses, and her family. She has become quite a chatterbox, although her favorite words are mine, hot dog, and mama! She loves to eat and makes the biggest messes.

I can't believe how much she has grown in the last year... I hope that she keeps her love of life and fun for the rest of her years!

Happy Birthday, Doodlebug! We love you!

Happy Easter

We had an amazing Easter full of more blessings, laughter, food, and family than we could imagine!

Spring has Sprung - Texas Style

One of my favorite Texas traditions is bluebonnet pictures each spring. I have taken the girls pictures each year (except Lucy's first) and look forward to it all winter.

This year we found an awesome place for pictures. There is a little old man in a nearby town that invites people to take pictures in his field of bluebonnets in front of his house. He came out to talk to us this morning while I was taking the girl's pictures. He said that his dad planted the seeds over 20 years ago and he has been taking care of them since his dad passed in the 90's.

A couple of years ago, he and his wife were travelling to the hill country and he noticed all the people on the side of I-10 taking pictures in the bluebonnets. He was so impressed that he decided to open his patch to the public for picture taking the next year.

He had an adorable sign (wish I had thought to take a picture) that invited everyone to take a picture. His only two requests were to not trample the flowers for the next people and that you would bring him back a picture (He has a little box next to his gate.) to be included in his yearly scrapbook.

What a kind hearted man! I am so glad we found this spot and plan to make it part of our tradition from now on.... And you better believe I will be driving a picture back to him next week!!!

If anyone is interested in joining us, I think we are going to go back next week...

And now for the pictures....
