It wouldn't be Spring without bluebonnets!

Thanks to a family friend and some gorgeous Easter weather, we got some great bluebonnet pics this year. Lucy has gotten so big. She loved posing for the camera and was so patient with me trying to get "the perfect shot".
Grace, on the other hand, was done after just 5 minutes. She cheesed for 6 pictures and announced she was done. It took a lot of begging and promises of candy, but I managed to get her to sit still for a couple.

We even got a couple shots with all the little girls! It was almost impossible to get them all looking and smiling at the same time, but we tried. Aren't they adorable?

Poppy's Garden

Every year my dad has an amazing garden, and every year we all look forward to enjoying the veggies that come from it. Now that they have moved to the "country" the garden is even bigger and better. Saturday we spent a few hours helping to plant the second plot full of tomatoes, green beans, bell peppers, and squash.

Grace was in charge of putting water in each hole before the plant was added. She was so excited and worked so hard to carry the very "heaby" water can.
Lucy then followed up with a tomato plant in each hole. She is getting to be a real pro, since this is her third year to help plant. She was very specific in how she patted each little plant into place.
Poppy and Grace planted a special cherry tomato plant just for her. She LOVES cherry tomatoes and will eat a whole carton at a time.
I can hardly wait until the first veggies are ready to eat. Mom always makes yummy salsa, so I am hoping to be there to help with that.

Hoping for a bountiful harvest!

Picnic for Two

Gorgeous day, yummy food, and the sweetest little lunch companion... How could a mommy be any more lucky?

Counting my blessings,

Mommy, I don't like them...

Those were the words outta Lucy's mouth about an hour before she devoured 2 dozen of the little suckers. I was supremely impressed considering Chris and I are not huge fans. Lucy continues to amaze me by the things she will eat. She is so adventurous and always willing to try new things. I sure hope this attitude stays with her for the rest of her life!

Thanks so much to the Wicke's and their awesome annual crawfish boil. Lucy is already talking about next year!

Yumm-Yumm,

Jumping into Warmer Weather...

Yes, we were that family in our undies by the end of the day.... Just another example of awesome parenting!

Beachy Babes!

We made our first trip to Rockport for the first weekend of Spring Break. Chris and Chester got to do a little fishing and Judy, the girls and I got a little pampering. It was a great time as always. It was too cold to swim, but that didn't stop the ladies from wear their swim suits to the beach. We found lots of shells and beach glass and had a great time dipping our toes in the surf. We can hardly wait for many more trips to come this summer!

Fun in Fairfield

Our sweet friend had a surprise party this weekend in Fairfield. It was an adults only party, so thanks to my sis and brother-in-law, Chris and I headed off for a kid free night! It was so much fun! We had a great time seeing everyone and hearing all the latest news from our old stomping grounds.
I miss my buddy so much! Who else will drink beer and watch kids play with you and not judge??

The deejays for the night!

Man love at its finest!

He might have had a few too many drinks!

The sure sign of true friends, is that you can pick up where you left off no matter how much time has passed! Thanks for including us in a wonderful party!
